Job Overview:
As a Farmer Worker at Haygrove Ltd, you will play a crucial role in the cultivation, maintenance, and harvesting of our crops. You will work in a variety of weather conditions, ensuring that our farming operations run smoothly and efficiently. The role will involve a range of tasks including planting, tending to crops, harvesting, and maintaining the farm environment to ensure the highest yield and quality of produce.
Key Responsibilities:
Crop Maintenance: Assist with planting, watering, and maintaining crops to ensure healthy growth and optimal harvest conditions.
Harvesting: Efficiently and carefully pick fruit and vegetables at the correct time to ensure the best quality and freshness.
Pest and Disease Control: Monitor crops for signs of pests and diseases, applying treatments as directed to maintain plant health.
Equipment Operation: Use and maintain farming tools and machinery (e.g., tractors, irrigation systems, and harvesters) to support farming operations.
Field Preparation: Prepare the soil, plant seeds, and apply fertilizers, ensuring proper growth conditions for crops.
General Farm Maintenance: Keep the farm environment clean, including maintaining farm equipment, and assisting with other tasks such as fencing and managing irrigation systems.
Quality Control: Monitor the quality of harvested produce to ensure it meets the company’s high standards.
Teamwork: Work as part of a team to achieve production targets and farm goals, ensuring efficiency and safety across all operations.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in farming, agricultural work, or a similar field is required.
Physical Stamina: Ability to work long hours in various weather conditions, including standing, bending, and lifting heavy items.
Attention to Detail: Strong focus on ensuring the highest quality of produce and adherence to farm standards.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with a positive attitude and good communication skills.
Time Management: Capable of working independently when required and effectively managing time to meet production deadlines.
Equipment Handling: Basic knowledge of operating farm machinery and tools; training will be provided if necessary.
Health & Safety Awareness: Knowledge of farm safety regulations and practices to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
