Job Description

Overview:

BrewDog is seeking a skilled and reliable Business Packaging Technician with at least 2 years of experience to join our fast-paced production team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for craft brewing and packaging, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, packaged products. As a Packaging Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that our beers are packaged efficiently, safely, and in line with BrewDog’s high standards. This role will provide you with an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued success and growth of BrewDog’s brand and product line.
Key Responsibilities:

Packaging Operations: Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot packaging machinery, including bottling, canning, and kegging lines. Ensure that packaging processes run smoothly, efficiently, and according to safety and quality standards.

Quality Control: Perform visual and physical inspections of packaged products to ensure that they meet BrewDog’s quality standards. Monitor product integrity, labeling, and packaging materials for accuracy and consistency.

Product Handling: Ensure that all products are carefully handled during the packaging process, preventing damage and maintaining the integrity of the beer. Properly handle and store finished goods in the warehouse.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on packaging equipment to minimize downtime. Quickly identify and resolve any issues that arise on the production line.

Inventory Management: Assist in managing packaging materials and supplies, including cans, bottles, labels, boxes, and pallets. Work closely with the inventory team to ensure adequate stock levels.

Packaging Line Setup & Changeovers: Set up and adjust the packaging lines for different products, ensuring smooth changeovers between batch runs. Adjust equipment settings to meet specific product packaging requirements.

Safety & Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while operating machinery and handling packaging materials. Ensure that the packaging process complies with food safety standards, local regulations, and BrewDog’s internal policies.

Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the production team, supervisors, and other departments to ensure efficient workflows and resolve any packaging or production issues. Communicate regularly with the team regarding daily goals, product specifications, and packaging requirements.

Process Improvement: Contribute ideas for continuous improvement in packaging processes, efficiency, and safety standards. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and new technologies in packaging.

Skills & Qualifications:

Packaging Experience: At least 2 years of experience working in packaging operations, preferably in the beverage, food, or manufacturing industry. Experience with bottling, canning, and labeling is highly desirable.

Mechanical & Technical Skills: Strong understanding of packaging machinery, equipment, and technology. Ability to troubleshoot, perform basic maintenance, and ensure equipment is running at optimal performance.

Attention to Detail: Excellent eye for detail to ensure that the packaging is completed accurately and to high-quality standards.

Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in a fast-paced production environment.

Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and solve issues quickly, ensuring minimal disruption to the production line and maintaining high operational efficiency.

Safety-Conscious: Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in a manufacturing or production environment. Ability to follow safety regulations and maintain a clean, safe working environment.

Teamwork & Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with other departments.

Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet production deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in packaging or a similar technical role, preferably in a manufacturing, food, or beverage industry environment.

Experience working with production line machinery, quality control processes, and inventory management is preferred.

Previous experience in the brewing or beverage industry is a plus, but not required.
