Job Overview:
As a Construction Worker at Bespoke Brickwork Ltd, you will be an integral part of our team, contributing to the completion of building projects across various sites. You will assist in the construction and bricklaying process, working with a team of skilled professionals to meet project deadlines and maintain high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Bricklaying and Masonry: Assist with the laying of bricks and blocks for walls, foundations, and other structures, ensuring precision and high-quality work.
Site Preparation: Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, organizing materials, and ensuring that tools and equipment are available and ready to use.
Building Foundations: Assist in digging trenches and pouring foundations, as well as laying the groundwork for the construction of walls and other structural elements.
Material Handling: Manage, transport, and organize construction materials, ensuring that they are used efficiently and safely.
Team Collaboration: Work alongside other construction workers, bricklayers, and supervisors to ensure the timely and successful completion of projects.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations and practices to maintain a safe working environment at all times.
General Construction Duties: Perform other tasks such as mixing mortar, installing scaffolding, and assisting with general construction duties as required by the project.
Tool Maintenance: Maintain tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working order and safe to use.
Quality Control: Ensure that all work meets the company’s high standards and conforms to project specifications.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in construction or bricklaying is required.
Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for long periods.
Attention to Detail: Strong focus on quality craftsmanship, ensuring that work is completed to a high standard.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, following instructions from supervisors and collaborating with other workers.
Health & Safety Knowledge: Understanding of and commitment to adhering to construction site health and safety regulations.
Time Management: Ability to work efficiently to meet project deadlines and manage time effectively on construction sites.
Tool Knowledge: Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and machinery commonly used in construction.
Communication Skills: Good communication skills for working with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders on site.
Desirable Attributes:
Experience with bricklaying or masonry work, including the use of specialized tools and techniques.
CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card or other relevant certifications.
Experience in operating construction machinery (e.g., forklifts, mixers, or scaffolding).
Knowledge of building regulations and construction standards.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings.
