Position Overview:
As a Security Officer at The Londoner, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, security, and wellbeing of all guests, visitors, and employees. You will monitor the premises, respond to incidents, and act as a visible presence to deter unwanted activity — always delivering service with discretion and professionalism in line with luxury standards. This role is ideal for someone with over 1 year of experience in a security position, ideally within a hotel or hospitality setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a visible presence throughout the property to deter and prevent theft, vandalism, and other unauthorized activities.
- Monitor CCTV systems and security alarms, responding swiftly to any incidents or suspicious activity.
- Control access to staff areas and ensure only authorized individuals are permitted entry.
- Assist with crowd control during busy periods, events, or emergencies.
- Conduct regular patrols of all hotel areas, including guest floors, public spaces, back-of-house, and car parks.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, emergencies, or guest concerns — including first aid situations, if trained.
- Write accurate and detailed incident reports for management and legal purposes.
- Liaise with emergency services when necessary and coordinate emergency procedures.
- Support the front-of-house and concierge teams with guest security requests and VIP protocols.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and fire safety regulations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a security role, preferably within the hospitality, events, or luxury service industry.
- Licensing: Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence is essential.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professionalism: Calm, confident, and courteous at all times, especially under pressure.
- Observation: Strong attention to detail with the ability to detect irregularities and report effectively.
- Teamwork: Able to collaborate effectively with all hotel departments.
- Physical Fitness: Good level of physical fitness, capable of standing and patrolling for long periods.
- Problem Solving: Ability to assess situations quickly and take appropriate action.
- Discretion: Respect for guest privacy and handling of sensitive situations with confidentiality and care.
Preferred Qualifications:
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Fire marshal or evacuation training.
- Experience using modern CCTV and access control systems.
- Background in luxury hospitality or high-profile guest security.
